Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.

Success also indicates he has won 21 titles at 21 different competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my children together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle previously this season.

His defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his skill to perform at the top level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

Moutet defended four early-game break points in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
